Transit/Transfer Passengers

Transit/Transfer Passengers

Transit passengers are allowed as per the decisions made by the authorities. Based on the transit passenger practice, if passengers arriving from abroad cannot fly directly to their final destination, they have to go through the passport control at the airport where they first arrive and receive their baggage (customs control) at the airport they arrive in the end.  Our guests arriving from abroad with a connecting flight from Istanbul go through passport control in Istanbul. Since the Istanbul to Izmir is a domestic destination, the aircraft docks at the Domestic Terminal, however passengers claim their luggage at the Izmir international terminal, which is the final destination. Passengers are directed to the baggage claim hall by the personnel of the Airline Company or Ground Handling Service Provider (Havaş, Çelebi or TGS). Guiding desks for transit passengers are located at the exit of the aircraft, before the baggage claim hall.
