Direct Flights From Izmir To Zurich Start
Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport has started to host Zurich flights of Swiss International Air Lines. The reciprocal direct flights between Izmir and Zurich will be performed three times a week.
Operated by TAV Airports, Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport has welcomed the first Zurich flight of Swiss International Air Lines. 152 passengers and the cabin crew that arrived at Adnan Menderes Airport at 8:10 pm on July 2nd, 2015 were welcomed by the airport officers and presented flowers.
TAV Ege General Manager Erkan Balcı stated: “Being amongst the most significant tourism and trade cities of the country, Izmir opens its gates to the world with the new destinations included to our flight network. Today, we are connected to 20 domestic destinations as well as 75 international destinations at 28 countries with direct flights performed from Adnan Menderes Airport. We are very glad that Swiss International Air Lines started direct flights that connect Izmir and Zurich, the largest city of Switzerland."
Swiss International Air Lines will perform reciprocal direct flights from Adnan Menderes Airport to Zurich three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays with Airbus 320 type aircraft until October 24th, 2015. Adnan Menderes Airport provided services to almost 11 million passengers in 2014 by achieving an increase of 7 percent compared to 2013. The airport also hosted 74,048 flights at the same period by an increase of 7 percent.
