Izmir Adnan Menderes welcomed the first flight of Luxair

The first flight of Luxair from Luxembourg was welcomed at Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport with a ceremony.

Operated by TAV Airports, a member of Groupe ADP, Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport welcomed the first Luxair flight from Luxembourg with a water salute. The Boeing B737-800 aircraft carried 186 passengers, who were greeted with flowers upon arrival at the terminal. Luxair will operate weekly reciprocal flights between Izmir and Luxembourg every Thursday until October 26, 2023.".

TAV Ege General Manager Erkan Balcı stated " As Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport, we are very happy to welcome the first flight from Luxembourg after a five-year hiatus.We anticipate that the number of direct flights, which gained momentum in 2022 with the decrease of the effects of the epidemic, will continue to increase in 2023. We are working in cooperation with our stakeholders for new destinations that will connect İzmir to the world.”

Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport served 9,837,110 passengers in 2022. The airport offers flights to 29 destinations in 18 countries with 9 airlines on international lines and 20 destinations with 4 airlines on domestic lines.
